Description:
Based on an inspiring true story, Spare Parts (2015, PG-13) is about four Hispanic high school students who form a robotics club under the guidance of their new teacher, Fredi (George Lopez). They aim to build an underwater robot to win a prestigious University of California-sponsored robotics competition. With no experience, only 800 bucks, and some used car parts, the ragtag club goes up against the well-funded reigning champion team, MIT. They build not only a fantastic robot but also a bond of friendship to last a lifetime.
