The ultimate indie rom-com for any hopeless romantic who’s ever been monumentally dumped! 500 Days of Summer (2009, PG-13) tells the story of Tom (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), a moony greeting card writer who is caught completely off-guard when his girlfriend Summer (Zooey Deschanel) suddenly breaks up with him. He reflects on the 500 days they spent together to try to figure out where their relationship went wrong – and in doing so, starts to rediscover his true passions in life, along with the hope of someday finding love again. You’ll swoon along with its soundtrack of indie and emo-pop gems.
