About Burying Norma Jeane:
Already in the throes of grief after the sudden loss of her husband, Miriam Renata is shaken by the news that Hugh Hefner, the lecherous founder of Playboy, has been recently entombed next to Marilyn Monroe nearly sixty years after her death. Unable to accept her idol sharing a crypt with this succubus for eternity, Miriam and her teenage daughter set out on a road trip across the West to liberate Norma Jeane and themselves.
About Marilyn Monroe Flees Her Crypt When Hugh Hefner Is Buried Next Door:
When Hugh Hefner is buried next door (yes, this happened), Marilyn Monroe has finally had it, with everything. So she escapes and runs into the canyons—joining the mountain lions of Los Angeles. She tells us all about it in this mash-up of mostly true things from her life, a meditation on fame, power, and the need to break free. "Can't a girl RIP around here?" Written by acclaimed author and playwright Deanne Stillman, directed by Lillian Diaz-Przybyl, and starring Shayne Eastin. Produced by Butcher Bird Studios. This film has won several awards, including an Indie X Fest Award for Best Achievement in Experimental Shorts, a Best Actress Award from the Indie Short Fest, an Honorable Mention for Best Production Design from the Indie Short Fest, and an Official Selection of the World Film Festival in Cannes.
