Description:

The world needed a hero and it got a hedgehog! Sonic the Hedgehog (2020, rated PG) is an extraterrestrial hedgehog who can run at incredible speed. He relocates to Earth to escape a turf war for control of his own planet, and winds up hiding out in Montana, where one of his supersonic sprints accidentally triggers an electromagnetic pulse that knocks out the power grid across the Pacific Northwest. The Department of Defense enlists the crazed Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) to determine the cause of the surge, and Robotnik quickly realizes that if he can capture and harness Sonic’s power, he can achieve global domination. From there Sonic teams up with his new friend Sheriff Tom in a mad dash to elude the forces of Dr. Robotnik and recapture the golden rings, culminating in a mega showdown atop the skyscrapers of San Francisco.
