Stand-up comedy sensation Jo Koy stars as Joe Valencia, a Los Angeles comedian trying to transition from TV commercial gigs into better paying work on a sitcom, preferably without having to play a stereotypical Asian character. We get to know Joe and his riotous, bickering, eating, drinking, laughing, loving Filipino-American family when they get together at grandma’s house in Daly City to celebrate Easter Sunday (2022, PG-13). Unfiltered personalities, money problems and wacky situations abound as the siblings, cousins and generations all try to get along under one roof for one big day.
